What should I expect the day of my surgery?
When you arrive for your surgery please check-in at the hospital registration window which is located at the main hospital entrance. You may be asked to wait in the hospital lobby until a surgical staff member calls on you.
Then, a staff member will walk you to the pre-op area to prep you for your surgery. At this time, you will change into a hospital gown. You are able to ask any questions about your procedure. The staff may also ask that you provide some information and complete some forms. An anesthesiologist and the general surgeon or provider will visit with you before your procedure begins.
After your surgery, you will be moved to recovery. You may be in recovery for up to an hour, depending on your status. While you are in recovery you are permitted to have a loved one with you until you are discharged.
Before you are discharged, a provider will visit with you concerning your procedure. We will, also, discuss discharge instructions which you should follow after you leave the hospital.
A member of our team will follow up with you after your surgery to ensure everything is going well for you. Please feel free to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have. It's important to follow up with your provider following your surgery if deemed necessary.
We are here to serve you and will continue to strive to make your time with us as positive as possible.
